Who we are
This policy covers www.deathdate.vip (“DeathDate”, “we”, “us”). For any privacy question or request, email [email protected] or use our contact form.
1. Death clock answers
Your date of birth, sex, country, height, weight and lifestyle answers are processed entirely in your web browser. They are not sent to our server and we cannot see them.
To save you retyping, your browser keeps your last answers in its local storage on your device. You can delete them at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.
When you use the share buttons, only your estimated age and a link to our homepage are shared — never your answers.
2. Contact form and email
If you contact us, we receive your name, email address and message. We use them only to reply to you and to improve the site. Messages are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted. To protect the form from abuse we also store a shortened, one-way hash of your IP address (not the address itself) with each message, and a hash-based counter that is cleared after one hour.
A strictly necessary session cookie (dd_session) protects the contact form against forged submissions. It is deleted when you close your browser.
3. Information collected automatically
Like any website, our hosting provider and our security and delivery network (Cloudflare) process technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix errors, and is kept only for a short period.
4. Advertising (Google AdSense)
We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites, and to measure ad performance.
- Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Turn off personalised ads from Google: My Ad Center.
- Opt out of personalised ads from many other companies: aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (Europe).
5. Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which pages they read and whether the calculator works well. We also record when a calculation or share happens, together with the country chosen and an age group (for example “30–39”) — never your date of birth or other answers. Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses.
6. Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google ads and analytics cookies are only used after you give consent through the consent message shown on your first visit. You can change your choice at any time using the privacy settings link shown by that message. Without consent, Google may still show non-personalised ads using limited data.
7. Legal bases (GDPR and UK GDPR)
- Consent — for advertising and analytics cookies in the EEA, UK and Switzerland.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the website secure, prevent abuse and fix errors.
- Your request — to reply when you contact us.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its use, to data portability and to withdraw consent. Residents of California and other US states may also request to know what personal information we hold and ask us to delete it. We do not sell personal information for money.
To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will reply within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
9. International transfers
Google and Cloudflare may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States. They use safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
10. Children
This website is not intended for children under 13 (under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has contacted us, email us and we will delete the message.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted on the homepage.
